“The World is a book and those who do not travel read only
one page.” - St. Augustine
Welcome to Leave No Trace Behind! I’m an American girl living and working in Paris, France.
My junior year of college I studied abroad in Lugano, Switzerland for a semester and vowed to return. Fast forward two years and I returned in the fall of 2012 to complete my Masters of Science in International Management. After graduation and a summer internship I packed my bags and headed to Paris!
My goal is to travel the world in order to see and learn as
much as possible. I love experiencing new countries, cities, cultures and
historical sites (with a slight weakness to archaeology). Standing in front of
the Parthenon in Greece or the Coliseum in Rome really puts into perspective
the architectural feats accomplished, something that a textbook and a photo can
never replicate. Traveling opens the doors to the rich histories of the world
while allowing us to really immerse ourselves in new and different cultures.
Traveling does not allow us to stay in our “safe zone.” Instead it pushes our
comfort boundaries allowing us to meet new friends, try new food, learn new
languages (or at least a few phrases) and experience different cultures. This
is not always easy but it is completely worth it.
Here, I will share my stories and reflect on where I have
been and what I have seen and learned.
Clare
